Drone, Gimbal, FPV, Camera Car, Tripod. Every frame matters. Half of Stephen McGee’s work ha been in 40 countries making 2-3 minute documentary and social media films for some of the biggest companies around the world. The other half has been documenting the18 year historic rise of Detroit with over 2,000,000 photographs and thousands of hours of footage. Wherever he shoots his behind the scenes films collaborate with his favorite brands like Fujifilm, Fujinon, Freefly, Red, Shotover and Sony. McGee walks through some of his favorite Detroit 2-3 minute films in Detroit, walks through his detroit narrative arc, how he went from only using a tripod to having 400,000 worth of gear on a helicopter and the lessons in between.
