On September 19, 2022, the BBC was planning on televising the Queen’s funeral across the U.K. through its BBC One broadcast television network. However, BBC Studios required a quick, cost-effective, and easy-to-deploy service to deliver live feeds to new international rights holders with limited or non-existent satellite links.

In this real-world application, attendees will discover:

  • How cloud-based contribution and primary distribution offer an affordable alternative and/or complementary workflow to satellite-based media transport
  • How an SRT streaming platform and high-quality, low-latency encoder combination enables quick-to-deploy, same-day cloud-based contribution workflows
  • How to distribute and transmit SRT-enabled feeds—including backup and redundant paths—to multiple globe endpoints
  • How to benefit from a cloud-based platform for easy and cost-effective monitoring of global SRT distribution networks
