There's no question that the move to the cloud in our industry is real, and it's here to stay. However, to make sure that we get the most value out of this shift, it's advisable to take a step back from the whole on-prem vs. cloud discussion and evaluate exactly what we are hoping to accomplish. The on-prem world of today is not necessarily the relic it might have been even a few years ago. And while the advantages of the cloud are many, there persists a great deal of misunderstanding when it comes to what problems it really does solve (and equally, what new problems does it create)?
We'll take an even-handed look at today's landscape and explore the real questions that need to be asked when considering your move to the cloud.
