Wilcox, ACE, James D.
In 1991, as a Producer/Editor for KCBS-TV, James won the Los Angeles Area Emmy Award for producing Lip Sync, The Milli Vanilli scandal. James has since gone on to cut numerous TV shows and feature films. He’s collaborated with Directors Ron Howard, James Cameron, Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, Chris Columbus, Tate Taylor and Mario Van Peebles to name a few.
He’s best known for his work on “Thirteen Lives”, “Hillbilly Elegy”, and “Genius: Einstein Chapter One”, which he won the 2018 ACE Eddie Award for “Best Edited Mini Series Or Motion Picture For Television.”
In addition, James has worked on “Genius: Picasso and Aretha”, Roots (2016)”, “CSI:Miami”, “Hawaii 5-O”, “Dark Angel”, “My Wife and Kids”, “Reno-911” and “Everybody Hates Chris.”
He is a member of American Cinema Editors, The Motion Picture Editors Guild and the Diversity Committee, The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Directors Guild Of America.
In 2018, Variety magazine named him Artisan Elite. Also, he’s been featured in Vanity Fair, Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter, CineMontage, CinemaEditor, IndieWire, the L.A. Times and on numerous podcasts such as “Art Of The Cut” “Post In Black” “Hollywood Editing Mentor” and “The Rough Cut.”
