Chameides, SOC, Dave
After a third failed attempt at professional glockenspiel, Dave Chameides found Steadicam at the tender age of 21. Career highlights include ER, West Wing, Donnie Darko, and Leprechaun 2, considered to be the finest entry into the Leprechaun oeuvre. Honors include a Society of Camera Operators, Camera Operator of the Year for Film nomination for his work on St.Vincent in 2014, and this past February, the Camera Operator of the Year Award for Television for his work on Ozark. He also is a two-time Emmy award winner and was once asked ‘where’s the commissary’ by Mickey Rooney himself.
When Dave isn’t working in the film industry he spends his time teaching and volunteering for various non profits throughout LA and beyond. He believes that giving back to the communities one exists in, be they film, social, or societal, is a fundamental part of being a well rounded operator and individual, and he is excited to continue that work in conjunction with the SOC.
