Tetsushi Okura joined NHK （Japan Broadcasting Corporation) in 1996. He is in charge of a wide range of tasks such as production of broadcast programs, newscasting, and broadcast management. He is currently part of the Media Development Planning Center. As the deputy general manager , he is in charge of the advancement of broadcasting and digital services. Of late, he has been working on the application of AI technology, and is involved in the development of speech synthesis, speech recognition , and translation technologies.
