Student at Rochester Institute of Technology
Colin O’Brien is the videographer of the SMPTE student chapter at the Rochester Institute of Technology. While finishing a degree focusing in live-action production, Colin has been working in upstate New York as a gaffer or electrician. While still working on lots of standard studio or location productions, Colin has been fortunate enough to work on several student-led Virtual Production sets, taking advantage of RIT’s LED volumes, and learning about lighting subjects to match their environment. With new technologies constantly pushing the creative field to new heights, Colin looks forward to researching more about the creative ways we can work better on set.
